Crabs scurry to the shoreline in the midnight mist,
their eyes darting to glimpse a meal burrowing in the sand.
There is no stillness on the ocean floor with the colony dipping in and out of the surf.
The orb in the mist peaks out through the clouds,
revealing the sorrow of the surrounding night.
