Refuse desert tear wound minute
I dropped out with the refuse onto the desert sand of Rill. I was stuck between milk jugs and some disposable diapers, one of which was wedged up against my nose, thankfully still closed. There was a small tear in my orange jump suit and a tiny wound that looked like a red grinning mouth. I was thankful to not be more hurt. I propped myself up on my elbows, rolled over and sat up. The garbage reeked. I had also been covered in old carrot juice. Looking around me, I saw a ten by ten foot mound of trash, dumped from the container ship. Glancing down, it was then I saw it, a minute speck of shine on top of an overturned coffee cup. Orange Grambarian gem stone, the rarest in the galaxy. I grabbed it and tucked it in my pocket. How it came to be in the trash, I didn't know.

tThanks. I was just farting around including the words. My husband writes sci-fi and I had just been talking with him. It isn't my bailiwick, but I entertained myself. I guess before she was a criminal, who escaped into the trash shute. After, I guess she makes it rich and becomes a politician. I like the 5 word challenge, since it gets me writing. Thanks again.

My oldest friend is a "fan". He met his wife at a Science Fiction convention, and after they got married, they took their honeymoon at the WorldCon in Chicago (that year). I have seen him at three other Worldcons, two in Boston, and one here in Philadelphia.
I asked him once why he never considered writing. (Tom has thousands of books, and he and his wife have had books dedicated to them a few times). Tom writes programs which run several hundred pages. He told me that was his art, even if only a half-dozen people on the planet understood it. I got that.
Stick around; I have been using 5 word challenge for the same purpose. It's been great for me.
thanks sweetie. See you soon

Thanks for everyone's kind words. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Don't get too toasted, those of y'all who drink. I got some good Irish Whiskey and a teetotaling husband. I won't drink too much, because there is something sad to me in waking up hungover on the first day of a new year.

Heres a challenge. Take the same words, and write something with their other meanings :)
Hey Jayd.
I think my challenge is to take the next five words and continue the story. I think that will make it palatable to me and fun. I'll see if I got time for my linguistic shenanigans in the weeks to come.
